Syria, Pakistan to activate tourism cooperation- workshop

 Damascus, SANA-Ministry of Tourism held on Tuesday a joint workshop between travel and tourism offices in Syria and the Republic of Pakistan at Sheraton Hotel in Damascus with the aim of activating the joint tourism work between the two counties.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Nidal Mashfej said in a press statement described the workshop as important to reactivate and boost tourism diversity between the two countries through mutual visits, tourist products, increasing tourists’ number, and diversifying their spectrums.

Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Damascus, Shahid Akhtar, for his part, said that the aim of this workshop is to convey a true image about tourism in Syria through members of tourist offices in the country, promote tourism, expand it to include entertainment and cultural tourism and attract more Pakistani tourists to Damascus after tourism was limited to the religious one.

Chairman of the Federation of Syrian chambers of Tourism Talal Khdeir, indicated that the Federation seeks to develop tourism between Syria and Pakistan, as a tour was organized for Pakistani offices’ owners to introduce them to the important tourist places in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Hama, and Lattakia, pointing out that the completion of the electronic platform will increase the arrangement of tourist trips between the two countries.
