Putin: Reconstruction and intensifying efforts for return of displaced to Syria are key task

Sochi, SANA- Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the reconstruction process and the intensification of efforts for the return of displaced people to Syria are now a key task in it.

Putin made his remarks following talks held with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah  in Sochi on Wednesday.

“We agreed to intensify coordination between the two countries regarding the political settlement in Syria,” Putin said.

The Russian President indicated that the task now is the reconstruction process and undertaking collective efforts for the return of the displaced Syrians to their country, in addition to forming the constitutional committee.

Putin pointed out that he informed al-Sisi on the content of the Sochi agreement on Idleb, adding that an agreement has been reached to pay special attention to the situation in Idleb where large numbers of the terrorists are gathered amid a danger of their spreading to neighboring countries.

For his part, al-Sisi said that he and Putin discussed the situation in Syria, agreeing to continue consultations regarding the development of the situation in the country and supporting the political solution for the crisis, with emphasis on the need for preserving Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
