Damascus, SANA- Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Pierre Krahenbuhl, stressed the Agency’s continued readiness to provide assistance to Palestinian refugees in Syria.
Krahenbuhl, at a press conference on Tuesday, hailed the services and capabilities offered by the Syrian government to the Palestinian refugees throughout the latest years.
He pointed out that the rehabilitation of health and social facilities in al-Sbeina camp by UNRWA has contributed to encouraging 10 thousands of Palestinians to return to the camp.
He added that the main focus of his visit was to review the situation of the Palestinian refugees and to visit a number of camps affected by the destruction during the past period, especially Yarmouk camp and the surrounding area Yalda and assess the situation there, saying that “it is too early to talk about the Camp and the return of refugees.”
