Damascus, SANA – Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Humam al-Jazaeri stressed that the ministry, in coordination with the Syrian Central Bank (SCB), will continue to fund all the imported goods needed for the basic products and the requirements of production in accordance with the demands of the local market and the stability of prices.
In a press statement on Sunday, Minister al-Jazaeri indicated that work is underway for facilitating the granting of importation licenses in a way that would guarantee widening the basis of trade movement.
He added that the ministry also works on reducing the costs of the local production benefiting from the increase in the foreign currency reserves at the SCB as a result of the development in the exports in the first half of the current year as well as the improvement of the consumer spending and the expansion of production.
“In the upcoming stage, the Ministry aims to strengthen and develop the export of food, textile and medicine commodities, in addition to establishing a basis of exportation that would strengthen the national economy and production ,”al-Jazaeri said.
