Damascus, SANA – Arab Sports’ Media delegation, which is on a visit to Syria nowadays, affirmed that the goal of the visit is to know the realities in the country and convey what is going on to Arab and international public opinion.
The delegation, during a visit to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), pointed out to the importance of cooperation between the Arab news agencies, SANA and the Syrian national media, particularity in the sports’ sector.
Director-General of SANA, Abdul-Rahim Ahmad, for his part, briefed the delegation on the situation of work and the mechanism adopted in making and broadcasting news in terms of rapidity, accuracy, and objectivity.
He said that SANA covers local, Arab, and international news 24 hours, in addition to broadcasting three sports’ bulletins weekly that include different reports with photos and videos.
Head of the delegation, Director General of RUM news agency in Jordan, Saleh al-Rashed said that the delegation will prepare a memorandum to the International Olympic Committee and FIFA, supported by civil society organizations in Europe, demanding to lift the ban and allow the Syrian teams to play in their country.
