Syria, Sudan discuss mechanisms to establish joint industrial projects

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Industry Ahmad al-Hamo discussed on Wednesday with the Sudanese Ambassador to Syria Khaled Ahmad Mohammad Ali mechanisms for benefiting from the available economic opportunities in the two countries and start joint industrial projects.

The two sides also discussed activating the work of the Joint Committee for Industrial Cooperation, which will be beneficial to the two brotherly countries.

The Minister pointed out to the possibility of benefiting from the presence of the agricultural abilities and plentiful raw materials in Sudan, proposing to enter into two projects in the field of leather and textiles as a starting point, which will establish the basis for launching industrial cooperation between the two countries and achieving high added value on the products of both countries.

He stressed the importance of working to find suitable ways to create a marine line between Syria and Sudan for the transfer of manufactured and raw materials in both directions in order to enhance the opportunities for trade and industrial cooperation.

In turn, the Sudanese Ambassador called on the Syrian industrialists and investors to explore the investment opportunities available in Sudan and establish industrial, investment, and commercial projects there.
