Damascus, SANA- Primate of the diocese of the Armenian Church in Damascus, Bishop Armash Nalbandian, stressed that Syria had embraced Armenians and from it they went all over the world after the genocide committed against them by the ottomans forcing them to leave their land.
During his meeting with Armenian economic delegation headed by Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan on Saturday, Nalbandian appreciated Armenia’s standing by the right during the crisis in Syria.
The Armenians in Syria are enjoying their full rights as Syrian citizens and they have representatives at the People’s Assembly, he said.
For his part, Karayan stressed the importance of enhancing the existing cooperation relations between Syria and Armenia, expressing his country’s readiness to participate in rebuilding Syria.
He suggested a number of mutual facilitations for bolstering trade cooperation between the two countries in addition to offering services to Syrian businessman and industrialists to enter European and the world markets through the Armenian gate.
