Tehran, SANA – Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council for International Affairs, Hussein Amir Abdullahian, said that the victories of the Syrian army and its allies indicate the eradication of ISIS and other terrorist organizations.
Abdullahian, meeting Syrian Ambassador to Iran, Adnan Mahmoud, underlined Syria’s key role in fighting international terrorism, reiterating his country’s support to the Syrian people in this war.
He stated that the terrorist organizations did not shoot a bullet against the Zionist entity which has practiced all forms of terrorism against the innocent people and it is now setting up a new scheme to fragment the Islamic states, noting that this plan serves the goals of ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations and poses threat to security and stability in the region.
Abdullahian expressed the Iranian Parliament’s readiness to host the Syrian-Iranian Parliamentary Friendship Group and the specialized parliamentary economic committees.
For his part, Ambassador Mahmoud noted that the Syrian army, in cooperation with its allies, will continue to fight terrorism in Deir Ezzor and other Syrian areas till full eradication and restoration of security and stability to all Syrian territories.
He stressed Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, rejecting any attempt to divide it or undermine its unity.
The Syrian Ambassador expressed gratitude and appreciation to Iran’s people and leadership for their stances in support of Syria.
