Lavrov, Tillerson discuss de-escalation zones in Syria

Moscow, SANA – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed in a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson the de-escalation zones in Syria in light of the outcomes of Astana 4 meeting  and enhancing foreign contribution to the settlement of the crisis in the country.

Sputnik quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying that the two sides focused on the settlement of the crisis in Syria, the de-escalation zones, cessation of hostilities and further Russian-US contacts.

The guarantor countries of Russia, Turkey and Iran on Thursday, during the fourth round of the Astana negotiations, agreed to sign a memorandum on the de-escalation zones.
