Damascus, SANA – Caretaker Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Khedr Orfali stressed the necessity of the work during the reconstruction stage to achieve the economic development, promote the rates of growth and to combat corruption.
Orfali’s remarks came during a meeting of the Board of Directors of Exports Development and Promotion Commission held on Wednesday.
The Minister pointed to the need of economic partnership among the Syrian Exporters Union and the Chambers of Commerce and Industries for serving the interest of the country and the citizens.
He said that the new investment law constitutes an umbrella for all aspects of economic activities in Syria as it facilitates all necessary procedures.
For his part, Director-General of the Commission Ehab Esmandar stressed that the Commission has recently set up studies to support the technical and qualitative sides of export in Syria in a way that copes with the economic situation in the country.
Esmander pointed out that the number of the textile companies that will participate in Syria MOTEX exhibition scheduled in Beirut on Friday reached 200 companies, adding that about 800 businessman were also invited.
He asserted that the exhibition constitutes a window for communication between the garments producers and their probable clients from the Arab countries, including Yemen, Libya, Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.
