Damascus, SANA-Prime Minister Imad Khamis affirmed on Thursday during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Syria Qi Qianjin the strength of the Syrian-Chinese relations at all levels.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the economic relations between Syria and China and ways of boosting them by finding new ideas for the continuation of relations, activating them and pushing them forward, mainly by inviting the Chinese investors to contribute to the reconstruction process.
Khamis expressed his appreciation for China’s supporting stances towards the political process in Syria, pointing out that countries of the world must recognize the importance of supporting Syria politically and economically to strengthen its role in fighting terrorism.
In turn, the Chinese Ambassador praised the bilateral relations between Syria and China which go beyond economic ties to farther levels.
Syria, China discuss enhancing trade and economic relations
Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Adib Mayaleh discussed with Chinese Ambassador means to enhance bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, mainly in the trade and economic fields.
Mayaleh pointed out to the importance of the Chinese participation in the reconstruction process in Syria, especially that the priority in this sector will be to the companies from the countries which stood by Syria during the crisis.
For his part, Qianjin affirmed that the Chinese government is interested in developing the trade and economic relations with Syria, adding that the Chinese Ministry of Commerce is encouraging the public and private Chinese companies to implement projects abroad in implementation of the Silk Road initiative announced by the Chinese President in 2013.
