Majd Eddin Ghazal wins the high jump gold medal at Barcelona International Forum

Madrid, SANA – Syria’s Majd Eddin Ghazal won a gold medal after clearing 233 cm in the high jump event at the currently held Barcelona International Forum.

The participation of Ghazal, who is a member of the Syrian national athletics team, comes within his training camp in Spain in preparation for participation in Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympic Games, due to be held on August 15th.

Another international participation is awaiting Ghazal in Barcelona Second International Forum, in addition to a series of Diamond League in France and Hungary.

Ghazal qualified for Rio Olympic Games after winning the gold medal (229 cm) at the Asian Grand Prix series 2015 in Thailand.

The Syrian champion led the 2016 world ranking list in high jump after he set a world lead at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Challenge meeting in Beijing’s national stadium on May 18.
