Damascus, SANA- Syria Tech 2016 exhibition kicked off on Thursday with the participation of 30 local manufacturing companies specialized in IT in addition to the scientific and educational establishments that work in this sector.
The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Communications and Technology in cooperation with SyriaTel and Mosaic companies.
Minister of Communications and Technology Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali said that the information sector is important in the economic development and reconstruction stage, which will includes the rebuilding of information and communications’ systems, adding that the applications included in the exhibition will significantly contribute to the reconstruction process.
In turn, Ala’a Salmour, head of media department at SyriaTel Company, said that the company offered three of its last new applications in the exhibition which are ” Your guide in travel”, “closer to you” and “music lover”, noting that the company’s pavilion displays social development, which gives details about the company’s role in this issue and encourages the use of alternative energy to ease the pressure on electricity.
While, Basil Sheikho, the Group Director of Mosaic Company for Exhibitions and Conferences affirmed the importance of this exhibition in bringing together the companies specialized in IT and communications.
The three-day-exhibition includes lectures for the National Authority on Network Services, Higher Institute of Applied Sciences, Search Engine of Shamra, Tazamun Communication Company and a number of other companies.
The exhibition aims at developing the IT sector in Syria through gathering exhibitors and visitors and providing the latest innovations in the field of informatics.
