Russian Health Ministry affirms readiness to provide all help to Syria

Moscow, SANA – The Russian Ministry of Health stressed that Russia is ready to support Syria with all needed medical and health assistant.

Russian Minister of Healthcare Veronica Skvortsova said on Tuesday, during her meeting with the Syrian Minister of Health Nizar Yazigi in Moscow, that Russia has been working on providing medical and heath supplies to Syria.

“We will do our best to ease the critical situation in Syria,” she added.

In turn, Minister Yazigi expressed gratitude to Russia for its stances in support of Syria, adding that Syria had realized advanced level in medical and health service, which was provided to all the Syrians free of charge, adding that the health sector and infrastructure were targeted systematically by the terrorist groups.

He said terrorists have destroyed 33 hospitals out of 99 affiliated to the Syrian Health Ministry, 692 health centers out of 1990 and 20 pharmaceutical factories out of 70.

Yazigi stressed that the government is rehabilitating a number of health institutions in the areas where the Syrian army cleared them off terrorist groups, but there are difficulties in providing some medicine and vaccinations due to the sanctions imposed on Syria by western companies and countries.
