Omani Embassy celebrates Independence Day, Mikdad: Oman stands against terrorism, supports Syria

Damascus, SANA- “The brotherly Omani Sultanate has chosen to play a key role in supporting Syria for fighting terrorism as they continued their work at the Omani embassy in Damascus,” Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Faisal Mikdad said Wednesday.

In a statement to reporters, Mikdad’s hailed, in a reception ceremony held on Wednesday at the Damascus-based Dama Rose Hotel marking the 45th anniversary of the Omani Independence Day, the Omani political and diplomatic role in continuing work for combating terrorism as well as efforts for peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria.

He stressed Oman’s stance in rejecting terrorism and the attempts to undermine Syria’s steadfastness.

He underlined that Oman seeks to find a solution to the crisis in Syria through diplomatic ways.

The Omani foreign policy has always been just and in line with its customs and cares for the interest of the Arab, the regional and international security and peace, Mikdad concluded.

Senior Syrian officials, head of diplomatic missions, economic and social figures attended the reception.
