Army establishes control over new areas in several provinces

Provinces, SANA-The army and armed forces on Saturday advanced in a number of areas across country, having control on new regions in southern cities.

Aleppo

An army unit established control over Rasm al-Abboud village south of Kwairis Airport in the eastern countryside of Aleppo province and the Ikarda farms in the southwestern countryside, inflicting losses on ISIS terrorists, a military source announced.

The army also destroyed fortified sites and vehicles for ISIS in al-Bab city and the villages and towns of Maskana, al-Afesh, and Aakoula, in addition to carrying out operations against Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization in al-Mansoura village, destroying concentrations of terrorists and their weapons, munitions, equipment, and machinegun-equipped vehicles.

Other army units destroyed hideouts of terrorist groups affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra and machinegun-equipped vehicles in the villages of al-Barqoum, Qarasi, and al-Hweiz, in addition to destroying a concentration of terrorists in al-Shwaihna village and eliminating terrorist hotbeds in the neighborhoods of Karm Maiser and al-Sukkari and at al-Sakhour roundabout in Aleppo city.

Daraa

Meanwhile, an army unit advanced in the city of Sheikh Miskin, 22 km north of Daraa city and established control over the Housing, al-Madagen and the Water Resources area after destroying the terrorist gatherings there, killing a number of them, while the rest fled, leaving behind their equipment and weapons .

A military source told SANA Saturday that another army unit targeted the terrorist organizations’ hideouts in Atman town, 4 km north of Daraa city, destroying their gatherings and sites with all terrorists inside, mostly were of Jabhat al-Nusra.

In Daraa al-Balad, an army unit destroyed a factory for explosive devices and vehicles southwest of al-Hussein Mosque and a car loaded with weapons and ammunition on al-Sad road, in addition to killing many terrorists and destroying their vehicles in al-Manshiye neighborhood and south of the police housings area.

Army operations also targeted terrorist hideouts in al-Ghizlan farms and al-Ghariye al-Sharqiye in the province’s northern countryside.

Sweida

In the southeastern countryside of Sweida province, an army unit targeted ISIS vehicles’ to the east of Tal Shagaf, destroying a number of them with all terrorists on board and weapon, in addition to targeting ISIS hideouts in al-Qasr village in the northeastern countryside, destroying them along with the terrorists, weapons, and equipment inside them.

Damascus Countryside

The army’s air force targeted and destroyed a convoy of vehicles for ISIS in Bir al-Qasb area in the southeastern countryside of Damascus near al-Badia desert.

An ammunition depot and a 23 mm anti-aircraft gun were destroyed and a number of terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra and Jaish al-Islam were killed in army airstrikes in Marj al-Sultan village deep in the Eastern Ghouta, according to the military source.

In the northern part of Eastern Ghouta, the airstrikes destroyed a mortar and several fortified positions for Jaish al-Islam terrorists in Harasta farms.

Homs

The army units have been significantly advancing on the area surrounding Mhein city, which is located to the southeast of Homs city.

Meanwhile, field sources said that army units, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, destroyed a car bomb for ISIS terrorists during their continued operations to the west of Mhein town, where the army units expanded their control after eliminating the last gatherings of ISIS terrorists in the chain of al-Hazm hills that overlook the
town, and destroyed a car bomb deployed by ISIS.

The army’s air force carried out sorties during which it targeted ISIS dens and positions in al-Qaraytain city, Hawarin and to the south of Mhein, and later army units destroyed machinegun-equipped vehicles and an armored vehicle and ISIS hideouts around Mhein, Hawareen, al-Mshairfeh, and Oum Sehreeh.

An army unit carried out a special operation in which a gathering of ISIS terrorists was eliminated in the surroundings of al-Shaer oil field and a number of vehicles and munitions for the terrorists were destroyed.

In the province’s northern countryside, army units destroyed terrorist hideouts and concentrations in the towns and villages of Jawalak, Talbiseh, and Teirmaala, while another unit targeted terrorists around Kafrnan village and destroyed mortar launchers and killed a number of terrorists.

Hama 

Meanwhile, the army’s Air Force destroyed gatherings of the so-called al-Fateh Army terrorist organization in Kafar Zeta, Lattmeen and in Morek in the northern countryside of Hama province, inflicting heavy losses upon terrorists.

Sources on the ground confirmed the death of a Qatari terrorists known as “Abu Ayham” aka “al-Uqab” in an army special operaiton targeting a hideout for “Jund al-Aqsa” terrorist organizations in al-Latamneh north of Hama city, while the “emir” (leader) of “Ahrar al-Cham Islamic movement” terrorist organization Abu Abdelsalam al-Saleh was killed along with other terrorists in Kafr Zeta town, where a tank along with the terrorists on board were destroyed as well.

Idleb

Sources on the ground said that an army unit carried out a special operation targeting terrorists’ hideouts in Abu al-Duhour village southeast of Idleb city, killing 18 terrorists including one Mohammad Murad Agha from Uzbekistan and destroying 3 vehicles along with the weapons and munitions on board.

Deir Ezzor

The army’s air force launched airstrikes against centers and fortified positions for ISIS in the eastern countryside of the eastern Deir Ezzor province.

The airstrikes took place in the villages of Hatla, al-Mrei’iyeh and al-Jafra, where the ISIS positions targeted were completely destroyed with the terrorists positioned at the sites killed and their machinegun-equipped vehicles destroyed.
