Patriarch Aphrem II calls for regaining stability to Syria and region

Beirut, SANA – Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East Mor Ignatius Aphrem II called for regaining stability and peace in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and the whole region.

Patriarch Aphrem II said during Sunday Sermon held in Beirut that the Middle East is a deeply rooted spot in history, adding it is where Christianity flourished.

His Beatitude added that no one in the world has the right to destroy houses and kidnap innocent people, calling for work on maintaining the human rights and dignity.

Patriarch Aphrem II also expressed hope that all the kidnapped would be released , making particular reference to the abduction of the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Aleppo and Iskenderun, Bishop Paul Yazigi and Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan of Aleppo, Bishop John Ibrahim.
