Moscow, SANA – For the third year running, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been named the world’s most powerful person by the influential business bi-weekly Forbes.
The panel of Forbes editors said the popularity of President Putin hit record level despite the western sanctions imposed on Moscow.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Angela Merkel came the second on Forbes’ list and US President Barack Obama took the third spot.
Pope Francis took the fourth spot and Chinese leader Xi Jinping came fifth in the Forbes’ list which included 74 persons in the 2015 edition.
