Geneva, SANA – Cuba renewed its support for finding a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria that respects its sovereignty and independence.
Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations Office in Geneva Anayansi Rodriguez called Tuesday on the international community to take effective measures to put an end to violence and terrorist acts that claim the lives of innocents in Syria.
She asserted the necessity of providing serious obligations to stop transferring weapons and funds to the terrorist organizations.
Rodriguez warned of some sides’ attempts to foment the crisis in Syria in service of their interests, stressing the importance of halting the media manipulation for political purposes to hinder the local and international efforts seeking to achieve peace.
