Boxer Ahmad Ghossoun qualifies for semi-finals of Asian Championships

Bangkok, SANA – Boxer Ahmad Ghossoun qualified for the semi-finals of the 2015 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships held in the Thai capital Bangkok.

188 athletes from 32 Asian countries are taking part in the competitions.

Ghossoun qualified for the semi-finals in the 64 kg category after beating the Japanese champion in the quarter-finals.

He won over a Sri Lankan boxer in his first game in the championship where 18 boxers of the same weight competed.

Boxer Alaa Ghosoun also won his first game in 81 kg category against a Thai boxer. He will play a boxer from Kazakhstan in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.

This tournament, which lasts til September 6th, is one of the strongest Asian qualifiers for the world championship for men.
