Moscow, SANA- The Russian President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed on Friday with U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Michael Ratni in Moscow prospects of a political settlement in Syria.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that a wide range of issues related to peace efforts in Syria were discussed during the meeting. Counterterrorism efforts, the ministry added, also figured prominently.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has been holding intensive consultations with various Syrian parties and international players on the crisis in Syria since the start of this month.
The Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed on Wednesday Russia’s support for Syria and the importance of building a wide front to combat terrorism with international and regional participation, including Syria.
