Moscow, SANA-Moscow affirmed on Wednesday the need for activating efforts towards an immediate political solution to the crisis in Syria through dialogue between the Syrian government and different opposition sides in light of Geneva communiqué of June 2012.
“Efforts should be intensified between Damascus and constructive opposition in combating international terrorists who pose a threat to Syria as a united, sovereign country,” Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement following a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister, Special representative of the Russian President Michael Bogdanov and a delegation of the so-called “Syrian coalition” at the Russian Chancery in Turkey.
It added that during the meeting, the two sides exchanged viewpoints on the outcomes of the two Syrian consultative meeting held in Moscow as preparatory measures to hold Geneva 3 conference.
