Tartous, SANA – With the participation of nine foreign and Arab countries, the First International Flower Festival was kicked off Wednesday in the coastal city of Tartous for the first time.
The festival, which was organized by Tartous city council and the Syrian Exporters Federation, was held at al-Bassel Park and will continue till June 10th.
Companies and agents from nine Arab and Foreign countries are participating in the festival, in addition to local participants from of Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform and its Directorates in the provinces, Seed Multiplication Foundation, Tartous Education Directorate and representatives of the Martyrs Institution in Tartous.
The private sector participates in the festival through elite of seedlings’ producers in Tartous, Lattakia, Aleppo, Daraa and Damascus, protected cultivation producers in Tartous, exporters and producers of the cut flowers in different provinces in addition to a number craftsmen and handmade materials producers in Tartous.
The festival’s activities include drawing pictures on the Tartous entrance walls, organizing marathon races, delivering scientific agriculture lectures, holding daily activities for arranging flowers and performing theatrical shows and an evening concert.
