18 explosive devices planted by ISIS on Homs-Palmyra road dismantled

Homs, SANA – An army unit thwarted an explosive device attack attempt by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on the road linking Homs with Palmyra, which the terrorist organization attacked days ago.

A military engineering unit successfully defused 18 explosive devices, which weighed 10 to 15 kg each. The devices were planted in Hanoura area 75 km east of Homs,a source in the central province said Thursday.

Last March, an army unit, in cooperation with the authorities, dismantled 10 devices, weighing 25-40 kg each, near the Oil Pump Station /3/ east of Palmyra city.
