Army redeploys units around Jisr al-Shughour, destroys terrorists’ concentrations and supply lines

Idleb, SANA – A military source said on Saturday that Army and Armed Forces units waged fierce battles since Friday morning against the terrorists that are flowing in large numbers across the borders with Turkey towards Jisr al-Shughour city in Idleb countryside, inflicting heavy losses upon terrorists during the clashes that took place in the city.

The source said the army has redeployed its units in the surroundings of Jisr al-Shughour to avoid any civilian casualties and fortified its defensive positions in the city’s vicinity, while it launches concentrated strikes against groups of terrorists and their supply routes in the city, and the army is now waging battles at the entrances of the city and routes leading to it, killing and injuring scores of terrorists and destroying their weapons and equipment.

The Syrian Arab Army’s air force destroyed a convoy of terrorists’ vehicles coming across the Turkish border at al-Qeniyeh-al-Janoudiyeh axis in the countryside of the northern province, the source said, adding that the air force also carried out concentrated airstrikes that destroyed dozens of vehicles along with the terrorists on board in Beshlamon, Ein al-Bardeh, and Ein al-Soda in Jisr al-Shughour area, in addition to targeting terrorist concentrations and routes in al-Qatroun, Ein al-Sabil, and Hallouz.

Earlier, military sources said the army targeted another convoy of terrorists’ vehicles at the axis of Nahla church and al-Mualaqa area in eastern Jisr al-Shughour city, leaving dozens of vehicles with terrorists on board destroyed
Meanhwhile, terrorist organizations acknowledged on their social media pages the loss of scores of their members in the ongoing battles in Jisr al-Shughour, most of them from Jabhet al-Nusra.

Among the dead terrorists were a Sudanese named Mohammad Makki, Ghaith Ibrahim Abdelbaqi, Shadi Mohammad Fajr al-Hussein, Ayham Mohammad Alloush, Ahmad Jamil al-Khalil, Ahmad Iyad al-Sheikh Diab, Hamad Amer Abu Bakr, and Abdelkarim al-Hussein al-Yassin.
