Cabinet addresses economic and services issues in weekly session

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet on Tuesday addressed a number of economic and services issues, including the results of the meetings of the Syrian-Belarusian Committee held in Minsk last week, taxes and tax evasion, and the status of vital crops.

Chairing the session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi hailed the success of the negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 regarding the Iranian nuclear file.

He also condemned the acts of robbery and theft carried out by terrorists at Nassib border crossing point and other areas, underlining the negative repercussions of closing the crossing point and stressing the need to find temporary alternatives.

The Premier requested that there be better supervision regarding the quality of bread produced by state establishments and to address the lack of classification of restaurants in Damascus as this leads to tax evasion.

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Local Administration Minister Omar Ghalwanji, addressed the negative impact of terrorist attacks on infrastructure and facilities in Idleb, reviewing steps being taken to provide electricity, drinking water, communications, and health services to locals in that province.
