Damascus, SANA- A delegation from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) arrived Tuesday at Damascus International Airport, marking the first visit to Syria since 2008.
Regional Director of ICAO Middle East Office, Eng. Mohammad Abu Bakr Farea, told SANA reporter that the organization is looking forward to cooperating with the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority in the upcoming phase and redeveloping its aviation sector.
He expressed his happiness to visit Damascus on behalf of the international organization.
For his part, Head of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, Ashhad al-Salibi, said that the delegation’s visit to Syria is considered historic and will be utilized to enhance cooperation between the two sides.
Al-Salibi noted that the aviation sector in the country is being built to meet ICAO’s international standards, ensuring aviation security and safety.
