Health Ministry, Syrian-French Council discuss joint cooperation

Damascus, SANA – Acting Health Minister Dr. Maher Al-Sharaa discussed with a delegation from the Syrian-French Council aspects of joint cooperation, which would contribute to enhancing the quality of health services and achieving sustainable development goals.

During the meeting, Al-Sharaa explained that the health sector is extremely damaged, and the needs aren’t available, stressing the necessity of coordination with all countries, organizations and medical delegations to provide these needs according to priorities.

The two sides discussed the challenges facing the health sector in Syria, cooperation’s prospects to advance it, expansion of future work plans in various health fields, stressing the need of joint work to rehabilitate the infrastructure of health facilities and repair the destroyed ones, secure medical supplies, devices and equipment, and exchange expertise between the two parties with the aim of raising scientific and medical competencies.
