Paris conference forms working group to coordinate efforts to support Syria

Paris, SANA- French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced that the participants in Paris conference on Syria agreed to form a working group to coordinate efforts to support Syria.

“On the sidelines of the conference, we were able to bring together a number of creditor parties, who decided to work under the auspices of the United Nations to form a working group to better coordinate their efforts and ensure integration among them, in order to be able to better serve the Syrian state and the Syrian people,” Noël Barrot said at a press conference on Thursday at the conclusion of the conference.

The French Foreign Minister pointed out the need to work to achieve economic renaissance in Syria, which is exhausted and stifled by Bashar al-Assad regime.

He also referred to the issue of the return of displaced persons and refugees, noting that France has played its role by giving Syrian refugees on its territory the possibility of obtaining an authorization allowing them to temporarily visit their country, without losing their refugee status or their international protection.
