Ministry of Health receives cancer treatment drugs from India

Damascus, SANA- Ministry of health received on Monday cancer treatment drugs provided by the Republic of India at Ibn al-Nafees Hospital in Damascus.

“The qualitative medicine, which were delivered to the ministry’s warehouses for patients with cancer, will be distributed to cancer treatment hospitals,” Health deputy Minister, Dr. Razan Salouta said in a press statement.

She added that it’s not the first time the Indian government provides medical aid in light of the difficult circumstances which Syria is going through because of the unjust economic blockade imposed on the Syrian people.

For his part ,the Indian Ambassador in Damascus, Irshad Ahmad, said that the shipment includes medicines for treating cancer patients, estimated at 1,400 KG weight.

He added that India has provided several forms of humanitarian and development assistance to Syria, and today’s shipment is a series of aid and a gift from the Indian government and its people to the Syrian government and its people.

“ India supports Syria and looks forward to participating in the reconstruction and building process in the country,” the Ambassador added.
