Russian security thwarts a terrorist plot in Dagestan

Moscow, SANA- Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has foiled a terrorist attempt to bomb Kaspiysk city in Dagestan, and arrested three residents who were planning to carry out the sabotage operation.

Russian security, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior, thwarted a series of terrorist crimes in the territory of the Russian Republic of Dagestan, pointing out that as a result of the activities that were carried out in Kaspiysk city, three local residents belonging to an international terrorist organization banned in Russian territory, who were planning to commit sabotage and terroristic acts against law enforcement agencies, as well as against an Orthodox church in Kaspiysk city, were discovered and detained, The FSB said in a statement Saturday , reported by the RT website.

The statement indicated that explosive devices, weapons, and instructions for carrying out combat operations in urban and forest areas were found in the detainees’ places of residence, explaining that the detainees confessed to preparing for a terrorist act and producing explosives illegally.
