Canada halts arms exports to the Israeli occupation entity

Ottawa, SANA- A Canadian government source reported that Canada halted arms exports to the Israeli entity against the backdrop of the continued aggression on the war-ravaged Gaza Strip.

“This decision came after the Canadian House of Commons issued a non-binding resolution last Monday calling for a halt to arms exports to the Israeli entity, and urging the international community to work to establish an independent Palestinian state,” the source told AFP.

The decision received support by a vote of 204-117, calling on Ottawa to “suspend all exports of military goods and technology with Israel, and increase efforts to prevent them.”

This month, a group of Canadian lawyers and activists filed a complaint against the Canadian government demanding the suspension of arms exports to the Israeli entity, considering that Ottawa is thus violating domestic and international law.
