Abu Dhabi, SANA – Syrian Special Olympic team for athletes member Fatima al-Hassan won silver medal in the 55kg category in the weightlifting at the 6th FAZAA International Athletics Competition in UAE.
Al-Hassan managed to lift 80 kg, while Player Nathalie Elias won the bronze medal in the 61 kg category as she managed to lift 85 kg.
Earlier, player Noura Baddour won the silver medal in the 41 kg category. The number of the medals of the Syrian team raised to three medals.
The events of the competition will continue in Dubai until next Wednesday with the participation of more than 130 athletes representing 25 countries.
The Syrian national team includes the athletes Shadi Issa, Rasha al- Sheikh , Natali Elias, Noura Baddour, and Fatima Hasan who are under the supervision of coach Fadi Fahham.
Teams achieve good results in this events will qualify for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
