New York, SANA- The war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli occupation in its aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip have been sponsored and supported by the US and its allies in the NATO, which made it a partner in this aggression, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, has affirmed.
Mikdad’s remarks came in a message to the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, which held a special session last night in commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
The Foreign Minister expressed regret over the failure of the United Nations (UN) organization to find a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue that restores rights to their owners.
Mikdad stressed that the Israeli occupation entity is once again proving its barbarism, aggression, and racism towards our people in occupied Palestine, as it continues its bombing of the Gaza Strip, and hasn’t left a hospital, a school, or a place of worship without targeting them, in addition to residential gatherings, and dropped 40,000 tons of explosives, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of tens of thousands of Palestinians, most of them women and children, in addition to human rights violations against thousands of people in the West Bank and the rest of the Palestinian territories.
He noted that the brutal practices of the occupation are the result of its existence based on the colonial ideology of its sponsors, on the logic of “apartheid”, and on the continuous expansion of its settlements, and all of this has been sponsored by the US and its NATO allies, who rushed to defend “Israel,” provide false justifications for its crimes, and supply it with weapons and expertise.
The Foreign Minister noted that the Israeli occupation entity was not satisfied with that, but rather expanded its aggressive actions to affect the Lebanese and Syrian territories, and this has been demonstrated by its repeated attacks on the airports of Damascus and Aleppo and the Syrian territories in an attempt to escalate the situation in the region and threaten international peace and security.
Mikdad renewed Syria’s condemnation in the strongest terms of the barbaric Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, stressing Syria’s firm support for the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination and return, establishing their independent state on all of their occupied territories with Jerusalem as its capital, ending the Israeli occupation of the occupied Arab territories, including the Syrian Golan, and implementing all relevant UN resolutions.
He expressed the regret and disappointment felt by the member states of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, due to the failure of the United Nations (UN) over many decades to return rights to their owners and achieve a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause.
