Iran: illegal American presence in Syria is a flagrant violation of international law.

New York,SANA-Iranian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amir Saeid Iravani affirmed that the illegal presence of foreign military forces, including the American forces in Syria is a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and international laws.

Iravani’s remarks came during the Security Council meeting on political and humanitarian affairs in Syria.

He said that the fight against terrorism must take place with full respect for the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, and without using this fight as a pretext for violating the basic principles of international law, IRNA reported.

The illegal presence of foreign military forces, including American forces, in Syria is a flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations and international laws, and it is The main source of insecurity in this country,Iravani said.

Iravani said that the providing humanitarian aid must be carried out without preconditions and in accordance with humanitarian principles, neutrality and non-discrimination.

“According to the UN Secretary-General’s report, the continuation of unilateral sanctions has impeded humanitarian aid’s access in Syria,” he added.

He strongly condemned the continued agressin of Israeli entity against Syria, especially against civilian infrastructure, and the continued occupation of the Syrian Arab Golan.
