WFP cuts down on aid to displaced Syrians due to lack of funding

Geneva, SANA – The World Food Programme (WFP) announced that it ceased providing aid to 9 camps for displaced Syrian in Turkey due to lack of funding, appealing to donors to help overcome this lack.

WFP Spokesperson Elisabeth Byrs said that the Programme asked the Turkish government to provide aid to the aforementioned 9 camps, as the WFP can’t do so any more, adding that the Programme needs an extra EUR 65 million to cover its programs for providing aid to Syrians in Turkey in 2015.

It should be noted that while the WFP is facing a lack of funds for aid, the United States and Turkey announced a program to train terrorists whom they call “moderate opposition” which will cost millions of dollars, and at the same time Turkey receives billions as a country that hosts displaced people, but these funds are funneled to the Turkish government’s coffers instead of going to the displaced people who need it.
