Beijing, SANA- The death toll from a landslide in the southwestern Chinese province of Sichuan has risen to 19, and five others have been injured.
The Chinese news agency, Xinhua, quoted the local authorities as saying: “A landslide occurred in a mountain near the city of Leshan in the south of the province, killing 19 people, in addition to injuring five others.”
It added: “More than 600 rescue workers have been sent to the site,” noting that search and rescue operations have been stopped.
According to a previous news, it was reported that 14 people were killed, and five others went missing.
