Syrian Olympic football Team to play a friendly match with Indonesian counterpart

Damascus, SANA- The Syrian football Olympic team will meet its Indonesian counterpart in a friendly match to be hosted by Surabaya city on Tuesday in the framework of the preparations of the two teams for AFC U-23 Asian Cup.

Members of the Syrian football team’s mission on Sunday arrived in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta and they headed for Surabaya city where they will hold a training camp.

The camp will last till mid February, then the national team will play a second friendly match with the Indonesian team next Saturday.

Later, the national team will head for Singapore to play two friendly matches with its Singaporean counterpart, one on Feb. 18 and the second on Feb. 21.

After that members of the national team will return to Damascus to hold a closed training camp and later they will head for Kuwait to hold a training camp there during which they will play a number of friendly matches before playing in the finals.

The national team will also play in the group 5 which includes Uzbekistan, India and Bangladesh and the finals will be hosted by Bangladesh.
