There is a possibility of dialogue between Russia and Ukraine, says Peskov

Moscow, SANA- Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has announced that the door to dialogue and negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will not be closed.

“There is a possibility of dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv,” Peskov was quoted by the RIA Novosti news agency as saying.

According to Peskov, neither Russian President Vladimir Putin nor Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov “have ever talked about closing the door to negotiations.”

Putin had confirmed during his recent visit to Tehran that the Kyiv authorities refused to implement the agreements reached, adding that the final outcome of the negotiations depends on the willingness of the contracting parties to fulfill the agreements reached and that the Kyiv authorities have no such desire.

For his part, Lavrov said earlier that in the current situation, peace talks between Russia and Ukraine are meaningless, pointing out that the Ukrainian side has no desire to discuss anything seriously.
