Damascus, SANA- The Embassy of the Republic of Venezuela in Damascus held a reception on the occasion of the 211st anniversary of the country’s independence Day, at its headquarters in Damascus.
Charge d’ affaires of the Venezuelan Embassy in Damascus, Joaquín Gómez, stressed that Syria and Venezuela are proud of their strategic friendship as they continuously defend the world’s just causes.
Gómez added that his country’s embassy works with the Venezuelan communities in Sweida, Aleppo and Tartous to implement various projects, including a project to spread and teach the Spanish language and other social and cultural projects to enhance Venezuelan-Syrian ties.
He appreciated the victories of the Syrian government, army and people in their fight against imperialist terrorism, saying that Syria has become a world symbol.
For her part, Director of America and Expatriates Department at the Foreign Ministry Abeer AlJarf conveyed Syria’s leadership and people greetings to the Venezuelan leadership and people on the Independence Day.
AlJarf pointed out that the Syrian-Venezuelan relations are deep-rooted and will continue.
