Boroujerdi: Iran will continue to support Syria and to provide assistance for solving the crisis in it

Beirut, SANA- Chairman of the Iranian Shura Council’s Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security Alaeddin Boroujerdi stressed that Iran will continue to support Syria and to provide assistance for solving the crisis in it as its continuation is not in the interest of anyone in the region.

In an interview with al-Manar TV Chanel, Boroujerdi said “What is important in Syria is that the stage of toppling the state or dividing it has finished and that the Syrian Arab army is achieving victories on the terrorist groups.”

He called upon the neighboring countries of Syria which support terrorists in the country and supply them with money and arms to change their policies and to stop that because the Takfiri organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria doesn’t constitute a threat to Syria or Iraq only but to all the countries which support it.

“We support Syria because it confronts the Zionist entity, and any aggression on any part of the resistance front, such as the latest Israeli aggression on Quneitra, is an aggression on the front as a whole and it has the right to respond,” Boroujerdi said.

He added that the Zionist entity is the main enemy of the Islamic world, and that Iran will utilize all of its capacities to retaliate against its crimes and to defend the resistance and support Syria.

He indicated that through one of the official TV channels, Israel had expressed regret about what it did in Quneitra and that it doesn’t want to enter in a confrontation or to escalate, yet Israel is an enemy and the respond to its aggression on Quneitra was absolute and this is what the Lebanese resistance did.

He added that the Zionist entity has entered a dangerous game and that continuing it means that it will receive more blows by the resistance axis, indicating that Iran has informed the US through the Swiss Ambassador in Tehran that the Zionist entity has crossed the red lines and the resistance front reserves the right to respond.
