President al-Assad congratulates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan on his election as President of the UAE

Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad sent on Saturday a cable to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, congratulating him in on his election as a President of the United Arab Emirates.

President al-Assad said in the letter that I congratulate you for gaining the trust of the Federal Supreme Council on your unanimous election as a President of the United Arab Emirates, and I wish you success in completing the march of the stage of the revival started by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

“Over the past years, you have played a leading role in bringing the UAE to a pioneer position in the region and the world in the fields of economic and scientific development, and you have been able to harness this position to build bridges and strong strategic relations with the countries of the world in order to achieve the interests of the UAE and the Arab region in general,” President al-Assad added.

“We look forward to continuing to work with you to strengthen relations between Syria and UAE and to enhance partnerships in all fields, based on the ties and common interests that bind the two brotherly peoples,” President al-Assad indicated.
