Visiting Maaloula, Sablin: Syria heads towards recovery and prosperity 

Damascus, SANA- The Russian parliamentary delegation headed by, Dmitry Sablin,head of the Russian-Syrian Friendship Committee in the Russian State Duma, visited on Wednesday  the city of Maaloula in Damascus countryside.

The visiting delegation laid wreaths on the memorial plaque for the martyrs in yard of the city, provided some educational supplies to Ghattas Shaheen School for Basic Education,  and visited the monuments of Mar Takla and Mar Takla archaeological monastery.

In a statement to SANA’s reporter, Sablin, pointed out that the visit aims at  sharing joy of Christmas with the locals and children of Maaloula and touring the historical monuments of the city after liberating it from terrorism.

He added that after the victories on terrorism, Syria is heading towards prosperity and development, noting that all obstacles will be end thanks  to the cooperation between Syria and the Russian .

‎For his part, Archimandrite Matta Rizk, head of the Mar Takla Monastery, stressed that the visit of the Russian delegation to Maaloula city is evidence of the recovery of Syria, which is now experiencing the joy of Christmas and New Year.
