The Hague, SANA- Syria’s Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW ) Milad Attiya presented his credentials to the Director-General of the OPCW Fernando Arias.
Following the ceremony of presenting the credentials, Ambassador Attiya discussed with Arias prospects of cooperation with the OPCW, indicating that Syria has fulfilled all its obligations due to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), despite of the critical conditions Syria has passed through during the past years, mainly the terrorist and economical war waged by some countries against it.
He called on the technical secretariat of the organization to shoulder its responsibility and to be honest in terms of carrying out the provisions of the Convention far from politicization and double standards.
For his part, Arias expressed the technical secretariat of the organization to offer all forms of support and cooperation to make the task of Syria’s ambassador a success as well as achieving fruitful and constructive cooperation to find solutions to the suspended issues.
