Vershinin, UN official discuss situation in Syria

Moscow, SANA – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergey Vershinin, discussed on Wednesday with United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Rosemary A. DiCarlo several international issues,  particularly the situation in Syria. 

Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement  that the two sides discussed several issues put on the UN meetings’ agenda, concentrating on regional issues, including the situation in Syria, Afghanistan and Libya, in addition to “the settlement between the Palestinians and Israel.”

“The two sides discussed specific questions related to Russia’s interaction with the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs of the United Nations’ Secretariat,” the statement added.
