Moscow, SANA- Syria’s Ambassador in Moscow, Riad Haddad, stressed the need to enhance constructive relations of cooperation between Russia and countries of the Islamic world, particularly in the economic domain.
Haddad, in a speech to the plenary session of the Economic Summit of Russia and the Islamic World held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ambassador Haddad added that Syria is an important part of the Islamic world, and therefore “it is natural for us to participate in the 12th International Economic Summit.”
He stressed that Syria, in light of the war and the unjust unilateral coercive measures imposed on the country by Western states, especially the US, “needs to refresh trade and revive its economy which has been largely affected by terrorism.”
