Chernyakov: reports of International Committee on Human Rights in Syria distort reality, ignore international law principles

Moscow, SANA-Representative of the Russian delegation participating in the 47th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Artur Chernyakov, affirmed that the reports of the so-called independent international commission of inquiry into human rights violations in Syria ignore the Syrian government efforts to overcome the crisis and it distort the situation in Syria.

Chernyakov , during the 47th session of the Human Rights Council currently taking place in Geneva on Tuesday, said that the image of the events drawn by the committee is completely distorted, stressing that it does not refer to the heinous acts of terrorists and their sponsors, but in fact it described the Syrian government efforts to fight against terrorism as “a major factor of destabilization.

He stressed that Moscow is fully confident that such biased conclusions delay any aspects for achieving peace in Syria.
