Foreign Ministry: Syria rejects foreign interference in China’s affairs, considers it flagrant violation of Int’l law

Damascus, SANA- Syria has affirmed its rejection of foreign interference in the affairs of the People’s Republic of China, asserting that no state or party has the right to interfere in the internal affairs of independent and sovereign states.

A Foreign and Expatriates Ministry official source said in a statement to SANA on Tuesday “The government of the Syrian Arab Republic supports the decision of the fourth session of the 13th National People’s Congress (NPC) on improving the electoral system of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, which is another major step taken by the People’s Republic of China to improve the legal and political systems in Hong Kong region following the adoption of its National Security Protection Law last June.

The source added “The Syrian Arab Republic rejects the foreign interference in the affairs of the People’s Republic of China and the attempts to distort facts, and it considers them as a flagrant violation of the international law and the principle of the states’ sovereignty over their territory, and it affirms that no state or party has the right to interfere in the internal affairs of independent and sovereign states.”

The source went on saying “The Syrian Arab Republic affirms the unity and territorial integrity of the People’s Republic of China and its sovereignty over its territory and its security and independence, and it affirms the principle of one China and calls on all states to respect that.”
