Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatiates Minister, Faysal Mikdad, discussed with spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Saeed Khatibzadeh, bilateral relations between Syria and Iran, particularly in the media, culture and scientific domains.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the latest developments in the region and the importance of enhancing communication and consultation between the two countries at all levels to push bilateral relations forwards in the interest of the two friendly countries.
Minister Mikdad pointed out to the need for making use of media means to face western misleading information and their agents.
The Minster affirmed the necessity of intensifying efforts of both countries to confront common challenges pose threat to security and stability of the region, referring to the inhuman impacts resulted by the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people.
Mikdad reaffirmed Syria’s stance in support of Iran’s attitude towards “the Joint Comprehensive work Plan” and its rejection of the attempt to distort the image of the Iranian stance or holding it responsible for the US withdrawal from the agreement.
Khatibzadeh, also head of the Center for Public Diplomacy and Information, renewed his country’s stance in support of Syria to realize a solution that would restore security and stability to all Syrian territory and preserve its sovereignty, independence and unity.
