Tal Barakat stores antiquities dating back to thousands of years

Sweida, SANA-Tal Barakat, located to the west of the town of Al-Ghariya in the southern countryside of Sweida, stores pages of the region’s history that narrate stories, civilizations and traditions that have passed through, and its remnants has remained immortal to our present time.

The remaining ruins that top the hill and the archaeological finds that were unearthed indicate that Man has inhabited it since ancient times, according to the researcher in the history of the region Tawfiq Al-Safadi.

Al-Safadi told SANA that the hill, which rises about 1068 meters above sea level, was home to the ancient man, and the discoveries in the area indicate the succession of civilizations that have passed through this region, adding that the relics made of flint stone and found on the site indicate that this area was inhabited thousands of years ago.

The researcher clarified that the distinguished and high hill location made it a monitoring point for the sites adjacent to the town of Al-Ghariya throughout different times.
